Please see below details of the charity which supports the Mobile Chemotherapy Unit in Cornwall:

Hope for Tomorrow was founded in 2003 by Christine Mills after she lost her husband David to cancer.

One of the many stresses the couple endured was travelling from their home to the Oncology Centre, a journey of nearly 60 miles.

Christine wanted a Charity to focus in a practical way, to alleviate the additional anxieties of travelling. She met Dr. Sean Elyan, Consultant Oncologist and Medical Director of the Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, and discovered that he had a vision to bring chemotherapy closer to the patient.

This inspired Christine to make a dream into a reality and the Charity was formed and initially raised £150.000 to build the worlds first Mobile Chemotherapy Unit.

Just imagine, if it wasn’t for the fact that Christine lost her husband David to cancer all those years ago, we in Cornwall would probably not have ‘ Dorothy‘ our own Mobile Chemotherapy Unit.

Hope for Tomorrow have some fantastic Patrons, just to mention a few.

Sir Stirling Moss OBE, motor racing legend and his lovely wife Susie.

Martin Brundle, another Formula 1 driver who lost his father to cancer, he says he feels proud and honoured to be a Patron.

Gloria Hunniford who lost her gorgeous daughter Caron Keating to cancer.               Gloria says :- For everybody concerned, travelling for chemotherapy is difficult         Hope for Tomorrow identified the problem and it’s just amazing to see how their Chemotherapy Units make life easier for so many patients receiving treatment.
